This being the official blog of The Culinary Exchange it probably would be a good idea to tell you a little but bit about it. Of course, the best way to familiarize yourself with it is to visit the site and poke around it a bit. All you have to do is sign up for a free account. The main reason for The Culinary Exchange is to provide a variety of ideas and inspiration through things like original articles, curated information/article and basic recipes. The point is to have a bunch of information in one place that can be used to create something new.

There are a few things that are also worth mentioning that you can participate in. First, The . Recipe Trees is a system for evolving or “pimping” recipes. It works like a family tree with early recipe versions on the top and new versions below. Recipes or Ingredients can be evolved with the help of the community. Most “trees” are open for everyone to participate in and new trees can be started by anyone. You can check it out .

You can also delight the community with your ““. This is simply a description of what your last meal would entail. Who would be there, what would be served, etc.

The Culinary Exchange also is hosting The World Food Diary. This is a record of all that is being eaten and where. To participate, you must have the iOS App. It has a function called “On My Plate Now”. This function sends feeds to the diary. The aim of is to get a sense of what is being eaten around the world. It is especially interested in capturing native or classic cuisine of the different locations around the globe. Check it out here. You can get the App here. The app, called Kitchen Connect, has a variety of other functions that are worth a look.

I hope you take the time to check out The Culinary Exchange. It is at the ground floor so to speak so there is plenty of opportunity to get involved and have a role in making a community. It is a bit beta, but ready to go. And, there is much more to come! I hope to see you there!
